Yes, this is all I need as a daily driver in the future. A V8, 4WD, and six seats.

Needs tires with white outlines letters, but those can be put on later. Still too much damn chrome. But nothing too flashy about it anywhere.

Basic, but gets the job done. And manual 4WD, with a big, mechanical lever bolted to the floor, just as the truck gods intended. Ain't pretty, but it doesn't need to be.

Pretty down to Earth price too: $35,360. Cheap compared to the usual 45k spent on a truck.

Wow that price really isn't bad at all for what you're getting. V8 + real 4WD is pretty cool.

I love sitting in truck interiors because their layout is so utilitarian and simple. It's not trying to sell itself on the showroom floor.

I was configuring it and saw the floor shifter and was like "Oh my god a modern truck that doesn't have a little knob on the dash to switch modes."

I really dig the work truck interior because there isn't any piece of decorative metal anywhere except around the GMC logo on the wheel and on the little tabs to adjust the vents. Reminds me of the inside of my dad's truck.

Small block Chevy motors will probably outlive the sun if you take proper care of them.

I'll take my $23k MDX that is a much better place to sit during a commute. It has AWD, seats 7, and can tow 5000lbs. Plenty of money left over to rent a truck the 1 time a year I would need a truck bed, or something with higher tow capacity.

These are pretty comfortable from my experiences with them. Comfy seats, cushy armrest, hefty wheel, everything I personally need from a car/truck.

I suppose you're thinking new, but gently used will yield great results. Got my 09 Silverado a couple years ago for 18k w/32000 mi on it. Of course mine is a 2wd so I would add about 4-5 k for 4x4.

I'm more of a person that prefers new cars, not that it matters at this point what I prefer, I can't even buy a 2k beater. Broke teenager life.

Plus, it's the first year for the new engines/body styles that I prefer over the old ones.

To be honest I haven't driven any newish trucks. None of this century. I still can't imagine daily driving one though.

These new trucks are pretty easy to daily drive. Triple sealed doors, laminated glass, hydraulic body mounts. There's a bunch of things that come together to makes them more comfortable than some cars to ride in.

My truck was a base model when it was new. 5.0 V8 (not the normal 5.7) 4WD lever on the floor, and AM/FM radio. I think the only option checked with the 5.0 and the third door. Even had a bench front seat. (I've since added buckets and cd player)

I hate these new Luxo-trucks, it goes against everything a truck is for. Basic, hardworking transport.
